Job Summary:
As a Compensation Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting our compensation team, specifically in administering and auditing our 401(k) plans. This role involves working closely with auditors, reviewing documentation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities:
- 401(k) Plan Audits: Provide support in the 401(k) audit process by gathering, reviewing, and organizing necessary documentation. Ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
- Documentation Review: Conduct detailed reviews of compensation and benefits documentation, ensuring that all records are accurate, complete, and readily available for audit purposes.
- Audit Support: Collaborate with external auditors, respond to information requests, and provide timely updates regarding audit progress and findings.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with ERISA, DOL, IRS, and other federal and state regulations governing compensation and benefits programs.
- Process Improvement: Identify and recommend enhancements to current documentation and audit support processes to streamline and improve efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with HR, Payroll, Finance, and Benefits teams to gather information and support compensation-related initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in compensation, benefits, HR, or a related role with a focus on 401(k) administration and audits.
- Strong understanding of 401(k) plan regulations, documentation requirements, and compliance standards.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate with external auditors and internal teams in a professional and efficient manner.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel; experience with HRIS and benefits administration systems is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a large retail or corporate environment.
- Certification in Compensation (CCP) or Benefits (CEBS) is a plus.
